Who am I?
I’m a technical writer with all sorts of interests and hobbies. I have two dogs and three cats, I play video games, I read science fiction and fantasy, and I’m in the SCA (a historical recreation group focused on the Middle Ages and Renaissance).
What’s this blog about?
This is my arts blog, so it covers all the crafty stuff I’m doing, or attempting to do. Mostly knitting, with occasional forays into calligraphy. I’m not big on sewing, but until I win the lottery, I do occasionally have to make my own SCA clothes.
I’ll be posting pictures of finished and in-progress projects, describing what I’m working on or want to work on, and probably griping when stuff doesn’t come out the way I want it to.
Why is it all Lissa’s fault?
Well, partly because my friend Lissa is the one who taught me to spin and knit. More than that, she dragged me to my first SCA meeting, so without her, I probably wouldn’t be doing *any* of the crafty stuff I now do, even the stuff she didn’t have a direct hand in. Also, she started her own arts blog, motivating me to do the same. Lastly, it’s fun to blame Lissa for everything because she gets all indignant, and when she gets all indignant, she squeaks, and it’s cute.
